We are very sorry to announce that the Saturday 23rd March Diesel Day has been cancelled due to the severe adverse weather conditions in Llangollen and the surrounding area. The local roads are largely impassable and, with more snow forecast for today and tomorrow, we do not expect the situation to improve.
We deeply regret having to take this very difficult decision at such short notice and are sorry to disappoint everyone. However the risks involved in trying to run the event and staff the railway in these difficult conditions cannot be justified.
We will discuss whether there is the possibility of rescheduling a two train running day for later in the Spring with the Railway’s Management and provide further updates in due course.
Once again, our sincere apologies for the inconvenience and disappointment. We too are all gutted and have had enough of Winter!
